• I've been involved in the building industry all my life, and I can honestly say this is some of the worst workmanship I've ever encountered. Unfortunately, I found Davy's workmanship to be extremely poor, and I was repeatedly given explanations that, in my view, did not stand up to scrutiny. For example, I was told that my tiles could not be laid in a brick-bond pattern because I had specified cloaked verge tiles. Marley advised me that this was not the case. When I sent Marley photographs of the roof, their immediate response was that the tiles "haven't been fitted properly". There were numerous other issues that I could list, but the problems were far too extensive to cover in a single review. I subsequently sought opinions from Marley, CORC, a college roofing trainer and another roofing contractor. All independently expressed serious concerns about the standard of the work, with some describing it as among the worst workmanship they had seen in a long time. Davy was removed from the job before completion due to the standard of workmanship and the problems that had arisen. I am now facing months of remedial work and repairs, along with thousands of pounds in additional costs, to put right the problems left behind. The roof tiles need to be removed and correctly relaid, timber work needs attention, and the leadwork needs replacing in areas where it was cut through when tiles were cut at the valleys. I am now seriously considering taking legal action to try to recover the money I have already paid. I am prepared to pay for the materials supplied, but given the standard of workmanship, I do not believe I should have to pay for the labour. I would strongly advise anyone considering using this contractor to carry out thorough checks and obtain independent references before proceeding. Unfortunately, this review site does not allow zero stars, so I have had to give one.
